Enkele quotes van Tim Atkin over Bourgogne 2018 :
I got an email yesterday from a UK importer saying that some of his Burgundy producers reckoned the 2018 reds were the "best they'd ever made". Not one of the 154 people I saw in Burgundy told me that. 2018 was one of the hottest vintages on record, with huge yields in some places. Neither conducive to “best ever” descriptions. It's a year in which wine critics will play an important role.
There are some outstanding wines. But also plenty of dogs. It’s a decent vintage in parts. But it’s too variable, in my view, to be called great. Time will tell.
(Volledig off topic, maar voor de anekdote, het zijn er geen 154, maar één meer. Alleen krijg ik dan een dansende emoji in de plaats. Tismaardatjetweet )
