Voor de liefhebbers van Tempier

Domaine Tempier, Bandol Rosé 2019 (NR) 22,50€
2018 Vintage (Rosé)
Vinous (Aug 2019), Review by Josh Raynolds, Rating 93, Drink 2020-2025
Shimmering orange. Fresh pit fruit, red berry and floral qualities on the highly perfumed nose, along with suggestions of dusty minerals and orange zest. Juicy, focused and lithe on the palate, offering intense nectarine, red currant, strawberry and candied lavender flavors supported by a spine of juicy acidity. Shows outstanding clarity and mineral cut on a very long, sappy finish that strongly echoes the floral and pit fruit notes.

Vinous (Aug 2018), Review by Josh Raynolds, Rating 93, Drink 2019-2024
Pale peach skin color. Intensely perfumed, mineral- and spice-accented aromas of fresh red berries and citrus fruits are complemented by building peach and floral qualities. Silky, focused and dry, offering concentrated yet lithe pit fruit, strawberry and blood orange flavors that show outstanding clarity and tension. Expands steadily on a very long, focused finish that leaves a sexy floral note behind.
2016 Vintage (Rosé)
Vinous (Jun 2018), Review by Josh Raynolds, Rating 94, Drink 2019-2024
Limpid orange-pink. Vibrant, mineral-accented cherry pit, peach, raspberry and melon scents, along with building orange pith and floral nuances. Stains the palate with incisive red berry, citrus fruit and lavender flavors that deftly blend depth and liveliness. Shows superb tension and intense mineral character on the strikingly long finish, which leaves bitter quinine and blood orange notes behind.

Domaine Tempier, Bandol Blanc 2019 (NR) 27,50€
2014 Vintage
WA #225 (Jun 2016), Review by Jeb Dunnuck, Rating 91, Drink 2016-2018
One of the finest whites I was able to taste from the region is the 2014 Bandol Blanc from Tempier. Made from 55% Clairette, 19% Ugni Blanc, 16% Bourboulenc, and the rest Vermentino and Marsanne, this incredibly clean, classy and balanced white has outstanding notes of white flowers, white peach, citrus blossom and mint. Count me a fan and it should drink beautifully for a year or more.

Domaine Tempier, Bandol Rouge Cuvée Classique 2018 (NR) 29,50€
2013 Vintage
WA #225 (Jun 2016), Review by Jeb Dunnuck, Rating 91, Drink 2016-2024
The straight 2013 Bandol Cuvee Classique from Tempier is a winner. Made from 74% Mourvèdre, 14% Grenache, 9% Cinsault, 3% Carignan and a splash of Syrah, this beauty is loaded with wild, gamey notes of blackberries, raspberries, wild herbs, olive and underbrush. Medium-bodied, silky and polished, with terrific purity of fruit, it’s ideal for drinking over the coming 7-8 years, and I’m sure will keep for longer.
1986 Vintage
Review by Jeb Dunnuck (Feb 2010), Rating 92
Drinking on point, the 1986 Domaine Tempier Bandol offers up an intense, complex bouquet of sweaty horse, saddle leather, garrigue, hay and earth. Brett-phobes be warned. It’s also possible that it’s simply mature Mourvèdre and not brett. Either, way, the bouquet is stunning and I’d guess a good number of people would love it while others will hate it. The palate is medium bodied with perfectly integrated fruit and tannin leading into a silky, long finish. I can’t see this getting better and would drink any bottles over the next 5 years.
