This wine possesses one of the most exaggerated aromatic profiles of the vintage. The 1975 Lascombes reveals a herbaceous, gingery, minty, spiced tea-like nose that readers will either detest or find interesting. Tannic and loosely jointed, this fully mature wine (there is considerable amber/orange at the edge) exhibits the vintage's tell-tale tannin and structure, but the fruit is sweet and ripe. Consume it over the next 5-7 years before the fruit begins to dry out. This is another wine that held up surprisingly well in an open decanter (2 days).

Hier spreekt hij zichzelf wat tegen, 5 a 7 jaar voor een wijn die twee dagen na decanteren nog goed is...

Tsjah, d ene fles is ook de andere niet.
JMQ heeft net weer wat gepubliceerd over flesverschil door kurk en dat kurk behalve kurk ook andere kurk gerelateerde "problemen" geeft. Blijkbaar beginnen ook grote Châteaux (o.a. Chevalier) nu Diam ed te gebruiken tot grote schrik van Amorim. Eiheiheiheiheindelijk...!?

1975 in Margaux blijkt, 45 jaar na dato, toch wel een dikke meevaller geweest te zijn. Ik dronk eerder ook een schitterende Brane Cantenac.
Parker schreef trouwens dat 1975 mogelijks wel een topjaar zou kunnen worden, voor de wijnen die genoeg “vlees” hadden om de tannines te weerstaan. 30 jaar of meer, noteerde hij.
Deze 1975 gaf hij trouwens 88 punten, de beste score van Lascombes in die (mindere) periode. Krachtig, gestoffeerd, tanninerijk, was zijn commentaar.

Ja ik kan die mening van Parker wel volgen, na deze wijn gedronken te hebben. Als ik de tannines proefde die er nog in zaten.. Bijzonder.
